MSM Group Inc. (MSM) is a small,
veteran-owned (VOSB) business located in
MSM has the people, the process, and the
tools to leverage your accounting and IT capability in performance of federal
contracts. We can assist your company
either as full “back-office” partner or, as experienced, niche market
software/services providers. Our
consultants have current, direct, and relevant program management experience on
contracts at NASA at GRC, MSFC, SSC, and GSFC.
For example, MSM, through its full “back office” business support of the
NASA Glenn “GESS” and “TFOME” contracts, has consistently been part of award
fee scores in excess of 98% relative to business management and cost control
metrics. Our best-in-breed,
enterprise-wide, fully integrated solution has improved contract performance,
lowered costs, and promoted overall program efficiency.

On contracts where MSM Group is a full partner with our prime
and we have direct SOW responsibility for business management, MSM’s unique
combination of people, processes, and tools enable our small business prime teammate
to propose solutions to the NASA customer that they would not otherwise on

the qualified personnel with years of direct and relevant experience managing
all aspects of NASA and DoD contracts.

Lastly we recognize that the integration of technology tools with those

This approach has been demonstrated through NASA Source Selection
Statements to be a “significant strength” for our teammates, a very critical
factor in the evaluation and selection process. Some examples of the technology tools we
have implemented on our contracts include GIMS and TERMS.
GIMS© (Glenn Information Management System) is an
enterprise-wide web portal application that interfaces with a back-end COTS (Microsoft Solomon IV for Windows) accounting
system to present 24x7 world wide access to contract and task order data for
the purpose of contract management and award fee metrics reporting. The GIMS© system is used to by all
managers to operate the NASA Glenn Engineering and Scientific Support (GESS)
Contract (NAS3-00145) in suburban
TERMS, the TFOME Enterprise Resource Management Solution, is a
next generation solution building on the foundation laid by the architecture of
GIMS©. TERMS is
used to manage the Test Facilities Operations Maintenance and Engineering
Contract (NNC05CA95C), also at the

These solutions are currently used by many concurrent end-users both in
the NASA Glenn Business Offices, the NASA Glenn technical customer, and the
program support offices of the respective contracts. From phase-in to funding, from award fee to

Microsoft Solomon VI for Windows
Microsoft Business Solutions, a business
group of Microsoft, offers a wide range of integrated, end-to-end business
applications and services designed to help small businesses become more
connected with customers. Microsoft
Business Solutions’ applications optimize strategic business processes across a
wide range of functional areas. MSM has
been selected to provide the Solomon suite of software solutions to our
customers. With Solomon as our
foundation, and our add-on packages tailored to the small government
contractor, we are well position to serve the demands of this growing market.
iSite©.
Simply put, the iSite© web portal provides full contract and project
management clarity, visibility and focus. From phase-in to closeout, government
and contractor users will have a single information portal, available 24x7 from
which to gain visibility to any and all required data.
The
iSite© framework is built using Microsoft .NET technologies with
C# (C-Sharp) being the primary programming language. Authentication is handled using Forms
Authentication against a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. Customer site configuration is handled by
custom XML files to allow the base iSite©
application framework to be extended to limitless proportions. MSM uses the Microsoft Solutions Framework
(MSF) for managing and executing technology implementation projects. MSF is a proven framework for successfully
managing the “Development Life Cycle” and has proved a valuable tool in the
projects that we have delivered.
The iSite©
framework builds on the Enterprise Resource Management concept by
adding additional capabilities of project and metric management. Additional
functions such as a knowledge base, electronic file cabinet, event calendar,
task scheduler and more have been added to expand the usefulness of the application.
RealTime©
RealTime© is a fully-automated, easy to use, secure web-based application that gives companies the ability to
coordinate enterprise timekeeping and payroll activities. RealTime© is centrally managed on
MSM servers behind redundant firewalls for security.
RealTime© was written using
Microsoft Technologies such as Active Server Pages, VBScript, Visual Basic 6.0,
and SQL Server 2000. The system was
designed to allow custom functionality for each customer to accommodate
company-specific settings, export requirements, reporting requirements and
more. RealTime© was
written to conform to DCAA auditing requirements for data integrity and full
metric tracking
The RealTime© system is used to manage the time and
payroll functions for the both GESS and TFOME contracts at NASA Glenn as well
as Clinical Research Management, a company that provides Clinical Trials for
the Department of Defense. RealTime© is also used by various
non-governmental agencies in industries such as graphics design, consulting
services, business management, and more.
The evolution of our suite of product offerings is
dynamic. The iSite© series of
applications together with our Solomon series of modules represent a
culmination of years of effort to improve business process for our NASA and DoD
customers. This clearly demonstrates
that the solutions MSM brings to the table are not stagnant; they are current,
agile, and adaptive. The latest in
information technology is integrated and synchronized with the most current
business processes.
